Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
I have researched this and can't make any sense of it. I have a 2003 H2 I am putting a newer model passenger mirror on. I have no idea what year it came from. Is there any directions on how to do this? The posts I have found do not seem to apply to my application.
Both mirrors have 11 wires. Matching colors to colors is not going to work on more than one wire. Old mirror black plug = 4 wires Old mirror blue plug = 7 wires New mirror black plug = 5 wires New mirror white plug = 6 wires Any help is appreciated. |
Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
i think you got a mirror for a 2007 h2 and up.
these connectors do not fit to the earlier ones. you should have a mirror for 2003-2006 i think. the connector colours should be black and blue, not black and white (2007 and up). |
Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
I have seen people say they made the mirror/plug work. That is what I am hoping to do.

Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
i think this might work, but you probably have to change the location of the wires in the plug (or cut and solder them). i don't know if the white plug fits the blue one nor do i know how the wires have to be arranged.

Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
Tracy (twr) has a 2008 SUV, I think he can produce one for that model year to see if it matches your mystery mirror.
Here is Tracy's info, might try to PM him. http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/m...poster&t=41968 |

Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
I have not had a chance to sit down and mess with this. I see the top picture says driver. I am assuming the wiring is the same driver/passenger?

Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
Here is the new mirror wires tied into the old plug (no soldering). I am able to fold the mirrors in and out, but I am not able to adjust the new mirror up, down, left or right. Can anyone confirm if my configuration is correct or not? I purchase the mirror on fleabay and it should be working. At this poing I am wondering if the up, down, left, right motor is broken. Can that be replaced if it is broken?
Any help is greatly appreciated! ![]() ![]() |
Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
Mirror folds in fine. I can hear the up, down, left, right motor turning, but the mirror does not move. I assume there is a gear or something that is messed up? Any way I can fix that? Any ideas how to take the cover off so I can check it out?

Re: Updating from 2003 mirror to newer model. Plug issues
I have an 03 and I found mirrors from an 05 that had the black and blue plug ends, just like the 03.I tried one from an 08 w/ a blk and white end and won`t work.I tried spliceing, dicing and praying and nothing worked. So I sent that mirror back and shopped around till I found an 05...plugged right in with out any trouble and is still working great to this day.
