Hello to all,
Great forum. New here but have been reading the threads for a while.
I have a 2007 sut lux package maroon bought new and still stock.
Looking to join trail runs but would start posing this question-what are my tire options if I want to try different tires, same rim and not lift the truck?

Thanks in advance!:D

adjust your torsion keys a bit to level the truck, and then put some 37" tires on. probably 37x12.50x17. in this size, theirs Nitto Trail Grapplers($478). i had them on my stock wheels before my lift. nice tire. bit noisy at high speeds. or you could stick with the same stock tire, the BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO($296.00), they come in a 37". another great tire and reasonably priced is the Cooper Discoverer STT($308).
just go to google.com and put in the tire size and click on shopping. youll find all kinds of great deals on these tires and many more option.

Welcome...for the most part, I agree with 2010_5thgen.

Get some 37s...I personally like the BFG MTs.

Get the truck leveled... preferably with a UCA leveling kit (Cognito). This will level you out and still give you a good ride.

...and if you're planning on any kind of off-roading that will require serious articulation; trails where you'd be throwing the truck's weight around going over big rocks or over objects at unusual angles, I'd also suggest some Kryponite tie rods.

IMO that's about all these trucks really need...besides a DMax (LOL!)

Thanks so much for the all the replies... will post pics when I get the chance.
really just too busy sometimes. but the more I keep on reading this forum, the more I realize i have been missing on a lot of fun.
I want to start by exploiting the capabilities of the truck first and go from there.
I am sure when I start adding mods then there is no turning back....it seems that it never ends... But glad I bought the truck...:excited:

Ps: if you do not level truck will it rub or have rough ride?
Lots of questions for now but will also head to a 4 x 4 shop close to me to ask how much they charge.

Thanx

yes the 37's will rub. the leveling isnt a big deal really. if you dont want to buy a kit that lets you level the front like guru said, then you can just turn the torsion keys that are already on it, up a bit.

Agree ... seems to be a good and knowledgeable bunch...very informative for newbies to 4 wheelin like me.

5th gen - thanks for input... will select tires first then will likely consider leveling the rig. Will post pic when done.
