Who is mod/admin here?
I just had a deal with a guy on Ebay, he bought my ride height sensors, and he is having problems signing up here.
He said he got an error message and it won't let him go any further. Is registration still open? If so could someone pm me or email me funnylikehaha at gmail dot com I don't want to post his info on the open forum. |
Re: Who is mod/admin here?
I'm a moderator...
I just created a test account and it worked like a charm. The confirmation email was sent, I clicked the activation link and landed on a page with this message: "Thank you for registering, [USERNAME]. Your account has been submitted for moderation by an administrator and will be activated shortly. You will be notified by email when this happens. To return to the forums, click here" Since I am a lowly 'moderator' and not an 'admin' I don't think I can approve new members though...(sigh)...:( BUT, maybe I can help...what error was he getting? Or just have him email me directly at guruerror at hotmail dot com. |
Re: Who is mod/admin here?
Thanks . I sent him your email.
Here's the message he got: "i didn't meet membership requirements Maybe his birthday was wrong? |

If they image verification code is incorrect, the site returns "The string you entered for the image verification did not match what was displayed." Hmmm... Maybe they never activated their account via the link in the automated email? I'll try to help him out once I hear from him. |

Re: Who is mod/admin here?
This is an old post from Jason, HOWEVER, spammers, especially from overseas have ramped up their game. On another car forum I've been on 10 years we are averaging over 500 different requests a day from spammers, many from China and the Ukraine. It's easy to tell some of them but even with two dozen moderators on this other forum, it's a major pain and some are axed unintentionally! My hats off to Jason to sorting through most of this!
"New Members, We have been getting killed by spammers, over 300 per day are attempting to join our community. Therefore, all new memberships are manually approved by me. Sometimes the legit users incorrectly get grouped in with the a$$h0l3 spammers. It is absolutely my fault, and apologize for doing so, but it is a tedious task. If you are one of the "legit users" who got banned, simply reply to that email and let me know that I missed on your account. I will recreate it for you right asap. Thanks to all of you for being part of the site. Regards, Jason" |
Re: Who is mod/admin here?
Too bad we can't contact our fearless leader. I've sent numerous emails/PM's and have yet to hear back.
Guess this forum is not his his top priority. Mark |

Re: Who is mod/admin here?
Something's up...I don't know who's looking at these for approval. My test account got rejected too:
"Unfortunately your registration at Hummer Forums by Elcova did not meet our membership requirements. Therefore your registration was deleted." |
