Toying with the idea- 37s, minor lift, gears- help
So as most of you know I lowered the H2 just a bit, and I don't like it. It rides like stock, that's not the issue. I just see other H2's drive by at OEM height and feel they look better.
If I end up keeping the truck I'll be swapping tires and going up. What are the stock gears? What is the best bang when upping to 37s? What are the lift options? Don't even want 4" of lift, very minor, maybe even a level type kit. Green keys and OEM springs? Other options? |

Best bang for your buck on tires, IMO, BFG ATs. I put 76,000 miles on mine and still had prolly 10,000 miles of street tread left. Cranking the torsion bars alone would be the cheap way to level ($0), but, IMO, it makes it ride like sh!t. I would recommend the Cognito UCA leveling kit. If you want more than that, crank the torsion bars a tad and put some spring spacers in the rear. That plus the 37s will put you slightly higher than stock...and give you a more aggressive stance. You'll prolly want new gears and a tune after stepping up to 37s. |

Nitto has a 37x14.11x20 in their A/T , but even if I could get the 14" wide tire on the 8.5" rim I'm pretty sure I'd have rubbing issues......from what I've been reading. Don't want a M/T. If I can get tires figured out the next step would be raising it a bit, then shocks, then Cognito UCA, then gears. I have the tune and access to DIABLEW. Green keys, spring spacers, Billsteins. Thoughts/ideas ?? |

You're right, the Cognito kit corrects the ride after installing keys and cranking the bars. I forgot that I already had the Truxxx keys before I got the Cognito kit. It also improves the suspensions geometry and gives you more down-travel. Truxxx and the GM Green keys are the same if I remember correctly, so either will work fine.
I think your on the right track: keys, Cognito UCA kit w/Bilsteins, and rear spring spacers. That will get you leveled, lifted and ready for 37s without sacrificing ride quality. |

No pics of that mod...but I put Bilsteins in the rear too. The ride is great on and off road.
