New here!!!!

I have a H3 with 6CD XM Mosoon stereo and I am looking to install the Eclipse or Pioneer Navigation sysytem. I went to a car audio showroom and they said I need to bypass the GM amp., but I cannot find the AMP under the seats. Why do I have to bypass it? Is there a harness that will hook into the monsoon amp that will work with Navigation? Thanks

its in back where the sub-woofer is. You have to dismantle the inside quarter panel... Check the find, there have been past threads on how to get to it.

I had the 6disc Monsoon in mine and KodiakZ installed a Eclipse NAV/Cam last week- I believe he just used an interface that utilizes the Monsoon amp. I could be totally wrong but I expect he will porbably chime in here once he spots your message...

I see his name on a lot of the tech posts. You like the eclipse? Where did u buy it from?

Here is a link to my website and the instructions on how to remove the rear panels. Courtesy of F5.

Kodiakz has a car audio install biz, so he did the entire thing turnkey including supplying the unit. He showed up at my office, installed everything, ran me thru the finer features and I was on my way home.

I am loving the eclipse! It sounds much better than the stock system, the rear cam is invaluable, the iPod adapter- although quirky- is great once you learn it, and I am very happy with the entire thing.

X2 even without the monsoon.

k9tim Did you hook it up so you can watch dvds in motion? A must ,you get full navigation control also.

ummmm......

Well there was one wire that I disconnected after Kodiak was done and gone.

Then I happened to ground it out

Leave it hooked up to parking brake and also ground out through a hidden switch, that way it looks legal if needed. Some one says you were watching a dvd and crashed you could hit the switch and tell the cops the rear camera was on.

What wire harness did you guys use? How did you run the rear camera?
