I like the look of some of them but I'd rather spend my $$ on other stuff. If I end up getting some I'd get these in the black PC. They are the SMA ones.

HummerB 12-24-2005 02:19 AM

150!!!!! i have a bridge i could sell you!

i hope those were canadian dollars.

just kidding i have toyed with the idea but i can easily find better uses for the money.

StarsnBars 12-24-2005 02:23 AM

Yea they wernt cheap but I chalked it up to mid life crisis and got them.

TejasH3 12-24-2005 02:47 AM

All of those look nice. I also want to go with the Blacked Out look and plan to put some on my future rig. $150 does'nt sound bad, I heard of people paying a lot more. Love the pics, Please post more!

I really like the black handles, they look very sharp. Great job.

I have thought of doing the same thing, but I keep thinking that someone will eventually come out with a non-chrome replacement hood vent with recessed handles, something that mimics the H2's vent.

I went black as well. $9 per pair at Home Depot. Custom install.

now thats halarious.

Hey BradO ... in what section at home depot did you find those handles? I went there right after getting my H3 looking for "handles" that would work but didn't see anything ... I checked the door and cabinet section. I also went to other "home" centers looking but didn't see anything in the right size.

Hey check it out, its a fellow Gerry Lane'er. Did you go to the Hummer Happening at Angola?

They came off a rubber grout float (pic enclosed). Tear back the rubber foam bottom to expose 2 screws which remove the handles. It's easy to make your own template. Replacement cost was $85, so if it didn't look right, i could go back OEM and still be under $100. So far i like them.
Yep, went to Angola with my wife, mom, and 3 year old. We had a blast, especially when the rain started. We didn't get to finish the entire trail, but we were blown away by how easily the H3 handled everything.

thanks for the info I like the look of those as well or better than anything else I have seen on the market .. my hummer dealer want's $285.00 for the handles and installation

I guess I'm missing something. What's the purpose of the these handles? I think they make more sense on my BBQ grill or hibachi...

Well I'm sure they air lift grills and hibachi to the troops in Iraq.
