Driving home today (in MAJOR windy conditions on the highway) I kept hearing this popping/pinging noise that sounded like it was coming from behind the dash. It didn't vary with acceleration or wind direction, but stopped when I slowed below 20 MPH. Hadn't heard it before, but then again, I usually have my stereo way up.

my hunch is that the trim around your windshield is in need of the 'double sided tape' repair..

Had that done on one side already (sounded like a sunroof issue then) - I'll have that checked out. Joy, another trip to the dealer.

I wonder if just using double sided tape will cure the excessive wind noise I have there. It's much louder on this truck, than the last.

Is it coming more from the floor area behind the dash or upper dash?

Upper dash. Almost like my key fob is banging on it, but it's not.
