You're not alone... I got the tubular assist steps and they really help a lot... here is a pic:

The steps are really needed but what they fogot to put in the H3 was a driver side handle to also asist getting in. I go wishthey would have put a little pull out for change.

Deleon, did you fix your email? IT is kicking all emails back... Says your emailbox is full...

HummerNewbie 06-22-2005 04:57 PM

I don't think that I have ever had a dealer not take the sticker off before delivery.

In New Mexico and alot of other states the sticker must be removed by the customer. We could be fined for doing it even after the purchase was made. i did for my customers

That's right, unless you sign a paper saying that the delaer can take it off for you. I did sign the paper but they didn't remove it, so I drove home with it :-)

HummerNewbie 06-22-2005 05:34 PM

That seems f***ed up to me but I guess there is a reason for it

BTW, those pretty tube steps will get smashed to hell if you take yours on any "harder" trails.

They can even be bent upwards enough to damage the rocker panels.

Just an FYI if you havent had this happen (yet).

The rockerpanel protection is the way to go if you are going to offroad much.

Yeah, I will just remove them when I'm ready to go off-road, I will be driving in the city 90% of the time and my GF hates to get in a truck without side steps (she was used to getting into my porsche), so I had to get the tube steps.

I've also got the Underbody Protection Kit, so I'm half way there

H3 Hummer 07-12-2005 06:56 PM

I got the OEM rocker protection and 2 U steps. Put them on myself. The regular tubular assist steps are nice also but should be removed for off roading. The U steps are a lot easier to remove then the entire tubular assist structure. I am in the process of writting a review for them. Look for my post soon.

Rocker Protection will not work with any other
steps but the removable off road assit.

Monroney Sticker Price (MSRP) shows the base price, the manufacturer’s installed options with the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, the manufacturer’s transportation charge, and the fuel economy (mileage). Affixed to the car window, this label is required by federal law, and may be removed only by the purchaser.
