FYI, Hummer has a new bulletin out instructing dealers that if a mirror needs to be replaced on either side of an H2 from 03-05, to replace both outside mirrors with the 06 style mirrors since they say it is a much better design mirror.

I agree KenP! Shag Nasty!

Hmmmm...I dig mine the way they are now...
|
As far as what is better, they say they are more stable, don't become loose at the pivot.
And the fold motor is a better design. If you're out of warranty I supposse you could ask them to try to find the old part number and purchase just one. Or you could purchase both mirrors if you wanted. The better bet would be to try to get your dealer to cover it since it is a known problem. |
Hummertech - when did this bullin come out? I was just up at the dealer on Staurday. They had my truck all week for a few warranty issues. One was the driver side mirror is vibrating ever so slightly (just enough to aggravate the living piss outta me

You guys all remember when I was spouting off about how ugly they were and how I hated them, right? Well, after seeing them in person I changed my opinion. They are much sturdier than the earlier models and now have the folding mechanisms & motors up inside of the mirror so they're protected from the elements(moisture).
The only problem is that so far they only come with those damn chrome center pieces. ![]() |
Bulletin just came out late last week.
|
having my techs work on 3-4 issues with my rig including mirrors on friday...im going to look into this< as I actually preffer the new style

Have had my '05 for a few months now, what should I watch out for. I too think the new ones are ugly, but if they are better and something is bound to happen to mine, I would like to know what to watch out for... |
The 05 mirrors don't seem to have the problems like the 03-04's did. I also just found out that the new style mirrors cannot be ordered just yet, so if you need a mirror warrantied and like the old style better then get in now and you can probably get the old style still.

Anyone here able to post a pic of the '06 mirrors? I'v never seen one.
