I can attest to the fact that synthetic will not do that!

4churchill 12-30-2005 01:28 AM

ouch!!!!! That goes to show you why you should always wrap a blanket or jacket, or bag or someting over the cable if youre not using synthetic

rodster 12-30-2005 01:38 AM

Ouch is right! I've been meaning to get rid of the steel cable. Between those pictures and Paragon's story of the syn line break during the hurricane, I'm on it.

Tim -- slow night, surfing ogrish, eh?

Yikes....you see many pictures of people just standing next to the truck when winching...i guess some people just dont think.

Ipedog 12-30-2005 02:37 PM

When I get a winch for my H3 it will have synthetic line.

Yummy pics by the way.

That guy is lucky the steel line didn't snap and saw him in half in the blink of an eye. There's also a picture somewhere in Pirate of some guy that got his fingers hamburgered in steel line.

I've bought a number of items from Trail Duty. Always very good service and the best price. One time the manufacturer didn't put a part in its sealed box and Trail Duty made sure I got a replacement.
