I've heard of them before. I think they have some sort of presence in San Francisco, but not sure.

I wonder if USAA.com condones trolling the web during work hours?

HGW 02-15-2006 07:59 PM

I have been with USAA since 1975--great insurance company. Their eligiablity requirements are on their site---

I have been with them for years and they have been great.

I'm pretty happy with them after 15+ years. Always quick to respond to claims with, generally, little hassel or call backs. They can tend towards the dark side after numerous claims. On my last policy renewal I recieved a "subtle" reminder of my third claim for garage door damage from the dern H2: "$351.60 is included in the premium as a result of accidents" followed by "This premium has been reduced by $351.60 as a result of policy longevity". Seriously though, I'm sure I could get cheaper coverage ($1300 for six months 03 H2 and 97 Camaro) but I'm pleased with the service and thier understanding of service members needs when deployed.

12 years... they're very good to me....

Great rates, fast service.

I've had them for 23 years for my Auto's and 14 years on my Home. Couldn't be better. They pay claims immediatly and the cost is cheap. They also send back cash every year. They have sent me between $90.00 and $350.00 every year depending on how much was paid on Auto insurance and how well they did.
To get coverage I think you either need to be (or once was) an Officer in the Military or a former dependent of an Officer in the Military.

It's a great insurance company, bank, investment company, etc. Been with them for 25 years.

The question, I guess, is what provokes your above question and the "troll insurance" comment by by Alec W. . .?

Why catch someone trolling from work?? Or are you telling on yourself??

Scouts Out 02-17-2006 01:24 PM

I have had USAA going on 18 years. They were at one time far cheaper than anyone else bvut thier prices are average now. They put holds on my policies when I am deployed, never had any issues with claims, and the dividends returns are a nice surprise too. and no local saleman harrassing you to buy additional ****. They are located in San Antonio. I do not beleive they have any branch offices

devilsfan 02-17-2006 03:10 PM

I think they have a branch in Phoenix.

We've had them for about 10 years. I am NOT pleased with their auto rates - we can find about $600 cheaper elsewhere, but they are no-hassle when it comes to repairs.

They DID jack up our rate when we filed a claim when someone hit and run on the Blingscalade tho. NOT happy there either.

We would switch carriers based on price but like I said, they have good coverage.
