After the Tellico trip my truck was making some funny noises. Seemed like when i was braking or turning at full lock there was almost a grinding sounding noise. I tried to find it but couldnt do so but im limited on my technical ability so that doesnt mean much. I finally got a chance to bring it to the stealership and apparently my gear box skid plate was smashed into my exhaust.

I found it humorous when the service writer came to explain the noise..."um sir it seems like your skid plates are pretty well dented in and really scratched up...". I can imagine the look on his face if hes seen some of you all's undercarraiges.

All in all, trip to the dealer 90 miles away was well worth the fun at Tellico.

Mine is bent so far into the exhaust that it doesn't make any sound anymore. I'm hoping for some type of exhaust failure so that..... oh wait, I'm not under warranty anymore.

You should pay attention to your spotter when he indicates "SLOW". You should also use a GOOD air guage.

I've waited for our dealership to run out of the '05's. They finally did.

I haven't seen the need to take it off. Mine is bent up into the exhaust now to the point there is no rattle, so I'm good.

I'm either going to make some like you did or buy something like Neil's

I find the use of a 50 ton press makes short work of these things
