Hi everybody.
I bought this baby in Georgetown, Texas about a week ago. Traded in my '98 Range Rover, so my expectations of offroad prowess were high. The H3 has completely met my expectations so far. Love the convenience of having alltime/low/high 4wd. RangeRover only had 4Low, although the crawl ratio seems to have been much higher (slower). The wheels came with the truck, and I have no idea brand. They are 16x8 and are shod with the stock tires. Went to Barnwell yesterday. Barnwell is a 1800-acre offroad vehicle park. It is to a dirtbike-rider/4wd-er what Vail is to a skier. Rated and marked trails and lots of informal bicep flexing with other people on the trail. Anyways, here are the pics... The camera diminished how steep this really was. Or maybe, my mind inflated it ![]() Oh no! I've left the trailer hitch on. This situation requires immediate attention, or so I thought. I'll just open the rear gate, and put the trailer hitch inside. Oh crap -- this door is heavy ![]() |
Great pics! Those rims look great!

Thanks. The dealership has a painted grill, that I'm trying to get. It's so new, they don't know the price yet. Or, they are building up the suspense, so they can charge me eleventy billion dollars.

Nice. Might consider some mudflaps too. Enjoy your H3.

zzr - the price is $375. I just bought one on Thursday.

Hummer of Orlando has them? |
Yes, special order though so it takes 10 business days from when I ordered it to arrive.

Nice pics. Love those rims.
![]() Getting the color-matched grill will definitely complete the look. You might consider line-x if cost is an issue for the painted grill. A lot of people on here have done it and it looks great. |
Nice pictures, looked at your galleries also.
Nice to see you already got some mud on it ![]() |
Thanks, guys.
Mudflaps sound good, especially after the addition of some 35" Nitto Mud Grapplers ![]() $375 for a painted grill is a great deal -- I'm going to call the dealer on Monday... I really liked the mud look, but the kids kept getting slimed when they got in/out ![]() ![]() My understanding is that 3 diamond jeep trails are an integral part of the H3 breakin procedure ![]() Here is a picture of my testdrive of the car that the H3 replaced -- '98 Range Rover. This picture was taken an hour after I left the lot and about three days before I decided to buy it. Range Rover Testdrive |
H3 > Range Rover. That is all.

Been wanting to go to Barnwell. Maybe we can get a trip together under auspices of PhilD or someone like that. BTW, I don't know if you want people access to your family photo's. Might take a moment to learn to post to the forum without giving access to all the non-H3 related photo's of your family and all (can still go back and "edit" the links out). Just a thought since you are newbie.

Trip to Barnwell...I'm in!

what kind of rims and where did you get them?
|
That looks really nice. Good job. Get a heat gun or hair dryer and remove those H3 emblems and it will be perfect.
