New front dif installed late last week. I'm feeling a little vibration (best i can descibe it) 20-30 feet after taking off from a stop. Then it goes away when you get up to speed. It also does it when you come to a stop in the same speed range.

So it's obvious something has been done wrong but any ideas what? I want to sound edumucated when I take it back in.

More info: They changed both sides of the case due to the crack, but used the old insides.

Can't wait to get that service survey card this time!!!

Hey Racer-

You might want to post this in the nerdy section. They might pick up on it there.

Reminds me of the time I read a thread on another forum that was titled "spin cycle" turns out she was asking about her broken washing machine.

I know. Some people are just so stupid sometimes, huh?

BTW, how's the CB coming?

Great, ordered it yesterday. Should be here soon. Then i'll come whine about some problem I'm having with THAT!

Yeah I had a problem like that. I took my drive shaft out and didn't mark it. When I put it back in it was not balanced right. There is a certain postion it goes in.

Racer-X 02-03-2006 05:54 PM

You know that crossed my mind. My buddy (GM mechanic) is coming to install my tie rods after work today - I will have him look at it.

Thanks for the idea.

Hit it with a hammer. (i put the wink in so you'd be sure and use a BIG hammer)

flipping the front shaft 180 fixed this issue. Thanks Wes.

Cool it fixed it. I don't own a hummer but hey it happend on my land cruiser. I figured you would not give my post any thought if it was not a hummer.
