Custom bumpers to accommodate lower lights?

Just thought I'd throw this out there, since I'm finding nada on my end.

I'm looking for sources, or even pictures, of ways folks have modified their front bumpers to accommodate lower headlights. ...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

42" Pit Bull Rockers on 20" Ultra Predators. A bit of bling, but I think it will look good.

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

Cost is one of the reasons I went with this shop (in addition to reputation). With the quote they gave me, and based on the best internet prices I found for parts alone, labor came out to be around...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

The lift I'm going with is a Bulletproof. They don't make that part for the front diff. I have no idea if the shop is even aware of the Cognito modifier.

My Fabtech install took 2 days (including...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

Update....visited the shop finally. They managed to locate the part in Michigan, no estimated arrival date yet tho. You can see the new exhaust on the back (Corsa sport) and the lift height, which is...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

Why lift it? Because I can and I want to.

I originally wanted a 12" lift when I first got the truck, I have always loved lifted trucks and wanted one big-ass monster truck. Hubby said no way,...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

Did get another update today (the owner is at his ILs house, still on vacation but is essentially running the shop from afar). Turns out he has never put a lift on a truck that has already been...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

We were out of town on vacation the first week it was in the shop. That's why I dropped it off when I did, put my money down when I did, he got the order in when he did (ie, planning ahead) - I...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

:perfect10s:

They work on FJs as well, so you are most likely 100% correct. :) For some reason, people don't mess with their H2s down here. 99% I've seen are stock. One other shop in town has...

Re: vibration in gas pedal

Check your pitman arms, it could be loose. Mine had this exact vibration for a good 6 months before the pitman arm broke. It was most noticeable to me when I was around 30-40 mph, kind of cruising...

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

It had a Fabtech steering upgrade. I don't know exactly what parts the shop needed that were OEM.

Re: Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

It was a 12" Bulletproof. It was complete, but it needed the original steering components, which were removed when the 6" Fabtech was installed 7 years ago.

Is this unreasonable, or am I just being whiny?

Here's the background: dropped my truck off on May 31st to have some work done at a local off road shop. The shop said it would take 8-10 days. Today, July 2 - STILL not done.

Work requested: ...

Subbing in headlights for DRLs?

Has anyone subbed in headlights in the DRL spot? I may need to do this for inspection reasons and was wondering if anyone had found a light that fits and if wiring was an issue.

Re: Rockstars - The Machined Ones.

I've seen them on a Jeep before (not the 20s tho). They're ok. Not my cup of tea, but they don't look cheap at least.

Re: LIFTED HUMMERS THREAD!!

What the heck did they use, a mattress frame???

The custom lifts are wicked. I still have to get 2 kids and groceries out of my truck tho. 12" is the max (until they graduate and get the heck...

Re: LIFTED HUMMERS THREAD!!

I'm curious too what you're running.

I had a heck of a time finding street-quality tires that will fit (it's my daily driver). The max that Bulletproof recommends is 15.5 without mods, which...

Re: LIFTED HUMMERS THREAD!!

My Bulletproof kit arrived at the shop yesterday. Fox shocks, gears, steps and exhaust are already done. Just need to finish the lift and get the new tires/wheels on, and it's good to...

Re: Where do you guys get your HUMMER service done?

I do the same - the dealer where I bought the truck from. The biggest sell is that they have all the parts in stock. I've heard horror stories of 3 week waits for some "general garages" who are...

Re: Cats are the question

Are you sure that's the problem? I had the same issue a few years ago and it turned out to be broken baffles in the muffler.

Re: LIFTED HUMMERS THREAD!!

You are indeed correct. I misread - Fabtech does cut the differential. But neither Fabtech nor Bulletproof cuts into the frame. Cognito does.

Re: LIFTED HUMMERS THREAD!!

Fabtech and Bulletproof don't cut. Which is one reason why I chose them.

As for the 12" lift - I don't think I would have gone with 12" coming from stock. The 6" was a major lift for a...
