When researching replacement tires for my Jeep a few years ago, I found that most rated the Bridgestone's as being almost as good as the BFG AT's. I opted for Yokohama Geolander HTII Plus, and I love 'em.
However, yesterday, I read an engineering article on the development of the H3 and something really stood out. Bridgestone worked directly with the H3 chassis engineers to overcome a problem with wheel hop while off road, and the answer they came up with was to add 2.2 lbs to the side walls of these particular tires.
I would wonder if the Bridgestone replacement tires would have the same modifications, and if another tire would require this added weight.
I can tell you from experience, this is not unusual, Goodyear produced unique tires for the Cadillac Catera, by reversing the tread blocks. These tires were offered for replacement tires, but normally had to be ordered.
As for Wrangler RT/S tires, in my opinion, they are highway tires only, and as for off-road, they are worthless.
