Back to the subject of having dogs or any animals in the car. Just like seat belts, crates or kennels will save the animals from harm in the event of a sudden stop or crash.

I have 2 rotty's that only travel with me in these crates. The thought of me stopping suddenly and them flying towards me (they each weigh about 120lbs), is enough for me to secure them in this manner. Do you allow your children to roam about without seatbelts? My dogs can leap from the ground directly into a crate that is at the tailgate. As a matter of fact, if they see they tailgate open, they will think they are going for a ride and jump right in.

As far as to where they belong, why would you have a dog and then keep him tied up outside. Unless, of course, you do that to your kids to. My dogs are part of my family and are treated as such.
