Diesel would be a great alternative. The litle jeep liberty comes with a diesel option. It has a great deal of torque for the trail (considering its size). </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Would have no problem with rear axle or transfer case, but the front axle could be a problem.
However, if you are going with a supercharger, figure in the price of a new axle. Warranty will be no good on driveline components; that's for sure.
