I believe that the advertising angle can work positively or negatively, depending on how its done. You've got to consider it from the public's perception when they see a H2 with full wrap avertisement versus a H2 with some cool advertising graphics in the back and side rear windows.
Around our town, we generally say something like " look at that idiot in the H2 decorated like a pepporoni pizza" or, "or there's that fool with the H2 that looks like a steak on a grill".
This is compared to what we say about the other types of H2 advertising, eg. " there goes the cool H2 that belongs to the guy that owns his own company" (security company) or (custom accessories company), (etc)
