Although I cannot answer your question, I am looking to possibly upgrade my '03 (if it won't sell!).
I have taken my truck to the local Circuit City (do it yourself is NOT an option in my house!) and been told that the Bose system is a potential problem with installing a new stereo unit. Having looked at the same unit (Pioneer AVIC-N1), I am curious as to whether you had problems with either the install, connections, or sound quality.
However, I now see that you have an '04... maybe the '03 is just a problem??? Anybody out there with advice? (Stereo advice, DRTY... keep it on track, here!
)
(I want XM and Nav... and I understand that I can't simply install the '04 or '05 GM kit...)
