Wow, seems like a very big differnece in rates. I'm hoping that the descrepancies are becuase the insurance guys have not yet figured out this vehicle. I'm shocked at some of these rates. I currently own two BMW's (and M3 and a Z3, the M3 is getting traded) both of which costs more than a loaded H3, and my total annual bill for both vehicles is around $1300 per year (My agent is Allstate, but they also insure my house and my boat which helps a bit on price). I have NEVER bought a vehicle and had the rates go down. They ALWAYS seem to get adjusted up just ever so much regardless of the price of the new vehicle, but I sure hope my H3 does not costs twice as much to insure as my M3. I would find it hard to belive that parts for a domestic car are much more scarce than are parts for a European car. I already know that the gas will cost more. My M3 takes premium gas, and I can drive all day at 90 mph on the highway and get 25 mpg, but the H3 taking regular gas loping along at 65 mph (getting an estimated 18mpg) will cost about 20% more for gas for a 500 mile road trip.
