So non-LUX stereo can be made to work with LUX amp with the right programming??? If so, do you lose sound quality in the process or is it just minor feature changes?

BTW, I just found out that a Cadillac tech at the same dealer ran into a very similar sounding issue this past week on an Escalade, and supposedly solved it the same way. So it's sounding more and more like you're right.
