I thought that I should elaborate some more on the temporary bra material that seems to match our bumper plastics so well.
The spray that I used is made by Dupli-Color and is called "Shield, Temporary Spray-On Bra Preotection" There is a link below that shows you what to look for.
Basically, you just spray it on an arbitrary part of your car

The material needs no time to dry. The material stays in place as long as you don't wash it or drag your finger throuh it.
The material removes quite readily when you do finally wash. Under the seemingly firm exterior crust, a coat of thin grease buffers the crust from your car's paint/chrome.
I'm actually thinking about spraying the bra on my fenders as an experiemnt. I can get a good feel for what it would like with a permanent solution. If I decide that I don't like it, I'll just wash it off.
Lastly, I couldn't find my old can of sprayon bra, so I bought another one just a few hours ago. I probably won't have pictures of the grill painted for a couple of days, because I'm packing up to take a little motorcycle journey for a few days
