The Pink Lantern is off the scale

Tell me how you really feel…

Who am I to come in here? Me.

Remember … you were supposedly fighting for my right to be me. Then you get all mad when I don’t say the words you want to hear.

I am sorry about the losses in you unit. I just feel that they shouldn’t be dead right now.

Is it so bad for me to be angry that they died? Is it so bad I care?
That I complain that they died?
Is it bad that I complain bitterly?

It wasn’t meant to trivialize the deaths. It was to complain about them dying.

One point I concede is that I will complain in a more respectful way. But that’s all.

Call me simple to object to the fact they were sent over there. I don’t question their honor. I do question the policies that brought all this about.

I think our leadership has failed to do the right thing time after time. This includes Clinton. This war didn’t have to happen. Now we have to win it and we will.

Let's examine parts of your post:

“Jesus H Christ I’m sick and tired of hearing bullsh’it like this. Anyone with half a brain could see it’s wrong. If we went to war for oil why the fu’ck did I pay $3.30 a gallon when I came home for leave in August and the Iraqis were paying 5 cents a gallon?”

Of course the war isn’t directly to get the oil simpleton. But dependence on oil funnels billions of dollars to these countries and gives them the money they need to cause problems, invest in WMD, and nukes.

Let me surprise you: I think Bush honestly believed there were WMD and that those WMD were hidden. Oil wasn’t the first reason… but it’s foolish to say it’s not part of the equation.

“Another lie from the pit of Hell… The last time I checked I wasn’t poor. Neither was anyone in my unit.”

Depends on you standards of what is poor I guess.

Fact is there are a lot of people in the military who would not have joined if they had other opportunities for advancement or ways to afford college.

Oh yeah, My sister, an Air Force pilot, joined because we were poor and she wanted college. Found a good life there she did.

But what do I know.

“If we’re disproportionately (learn to spell jack’ass) anything it’s conservative.”

Try using the words “intolerant of those that do not support us in EXACTLY the manner we want to be supported” in place of the word “conservative.”

Also work on YOUR spellings of the words: bull****, jackass, and ****.

I’ll work on my spelling of disproportionately.

"I’d like to invite you to take you and you’re attitude problem and get the fu’ck out of our AO. I really hate people that stick their nose into somebody else’s business and that fits you to a T."

Yeah you sure can't handle anyone that doesn’t see it EXACTLY your way.

"You have the right to hate Hummers and all SUV’s (service members like me gave it to you) but you don’t have the right to come here and run your mouth."

A) My rights were given me by GOD, not by you arrogant over-inflated self-righteous self.
B) I don’t hate Hummers, actually I think they’re one of the cooler trucks I have ever seen.
C) I have every right to voice my opinion. You gave me that right, remember?

"So take your ball and run home to Mama."

Not going happen. What are you afraid of a discussion?

"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.---George Orwell"

No kidding--- We just shouldn’t abuse their willingness to serve us. It's a dangerous world. We need these men. And yes, I do feel we have abused that loyalty.

I support out troops. I also think that moving forward we need to make some changes. Without change we are going to keep going back there again and again. We need to be energy independent so we can stop feeding cash into the middle-east problem machine.

I don’t dispute that the men in you unit were more than honorable. My point is the whole situation was avoidable. (I know that will piss you off, I am respectfully sorry, and I am standing by it.)

Even if it wasn’t avoidable, we must make changes to avoid repeating it in the future.

People will never stop driving there cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Never stop heating homes and running businesses.

It would be utterly stupid and try to cure the energy shortage by, dare I jest, eliminating Hummers. Yeah, I'll razz you about it. But the truth is a jeep with big tires is not much better.

But we can fuel both vehicles with biofuels like millions of people in Brazil do with dual-fuel cars every day.

The ball is in your court.

I'm still here.
