Klaus is right! (As always!)
The supercharger is the way to go. If you are constantly "on it" then it will take a toll on the powertrain. If you are looking for an increase in overall performance for towing, mountain driving, getting away from the red light a little quicker, etc. it is perfect. I have had a number of Whipplecharged vehicles and the reliability is excellent. I have never had any engine or powertrain problems other than rebuilding my trans in my '94 454 Suburban at 75,000 miles.
