I tow a 20' Maclander steel deck trailer with a 4200 lb Jeep (and an extra set of sand tires, tools, parts, etc..) on it and have had no problems with it swaying etc. The total loaded weight is around 7200 lbs. I'm not even using a weight dist. hitch or sway control, but I am staying within the recommended tounge weight, and the trailer has brakes on all four wheels.

I've towed it out west as well as to North Carolina (via I-77 through the mountains) and had no problems, but I would switch to a good synthetic trans oil, and don't use overdrive if you by one with the 4L80E trans.

My 2 cents: I can't speak for the new alpha model, but if your idea of towing is going over 60 MPH with a heavy trailer I'd just go get a new F350 and ride in more comfort with a fatter wallet.
