Actually, the less than with it co worker might be right.

If you check this link out:
http://www.gmfleet.com/us/products/s...e_Brochure.pdf

The police badge logo depicted in this document actually shows a badge with "Impala" on it.

GM changes the graphics style every year, but utilizes the same logo and color scheme. The 2004 Police brochures aren't available any more, but what it's sounding like is that your friends likely saw older vehicles (like 2004) being sent back.

Police agencies test out vehicles routinely to see if they meet their specs. This might be the case since there's very little difference between 2004 and 2005 model year police vehicles that GM offers.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">He specifically mentioned to his coworker to check out the "badge" to see who these were with. The "less than with it" coworker replied, "Impala" and then it was to late- they were too far separated and on a big time schedule. Thank you both for your insights, the GM thing sounds a "little" more plausible than the Chrome loving aliens, but then if you've recently crashed your ship and want to travel the Earth in style- THIS would certainly be one way to accomplish that </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
