Best memory, woke up one morning to a grizzley about 100 yards off, toppling trees. He eventually walked thru our campsite about 20 -30 feet from us. Oh, yea, we were in the cab of the truck at that point ready to take off! Good times!

Back in the mid 70's my cousin and I hiked into Logging Lake up in that general area of the park. We were dropped off by the family and they were going to come back and pick us up the next afternoon. After we had hiked in, there was a group of older teens that said there had been a bear around the night before.

We decided to stay the night as there were a couple of other tents still in the camping area and where were we going to go anyhow, all we could have done was hike back to the dirt road and still be out in the middle of nowhere.... We had hiked around during the late afternoon and found a park cabin that we figured we could get into if the bear came around again. Fortunately we didn't see any bears that trip.
Did have one brush up against a wall tent set up near the cabin once. Good thing I was 90% asleeep and just rolled over on my cot.
The cousin and his family had a minature pincher and she had been agitated all during the night - dog was in the cabin.
