Re: My Weekend
Thank you. Here are a few other pics from my prep weekend at Gerry Lane Hummer. They had a Grand Opening and Happening about 3 weeks ago. They worked with me on the obstacle course for about 45 minutes. Definetly came in handy. Included is a pic of my co-pilot. As far as my H3 Lux, 2 turns on the torsion bars, Toyo MT LT315/75 (thanks Green Lantern/StarsnBars/NEOCON1/etc. for advice), Manik guards/rockers, and Yakima roof rack. 10.75 inches ground clearance, 19 inches (drivers side rocker to ground) and 19.5 inches (passenger side rocker to ground). Handled everything great, but i know now that a locking differential is a MUST for off roading. It just makes certain obstacles so much easier. Coles Creek is in Hammond , LA. I joined a 4x4 club that goes wheeling once a month so my brother and I could off road together and learn how to manever over/around obstacles. He has a FJ Cruiser 4wd (He couldn't have the same type vehicle as his big brother, but i tried). The trails we were on were rough cut mainly for Jeeps. Followed a lifted Nissan Titan the morning run. Didn't worry much there. At Coles Creek on the north side they recommended I did not try it because the H3 had a wider wheelbase than they cut for. Of course a Marine (one of the spotters for the trail) pulled me aside and said he thinks the H3 could make it. Decision made. He really liked seeing the H3 in action. Made it quite a challenge around vines, limbs, etc scrapping the sides. All is well though, very little noticeable damage. Going to fab some magnets and try some spray on bra gunk for the fenders next time. Please offer suggestions for body armor!! My wife said she felt like she was riding a roller coaster. Ice chests falling into the front seat from the back seat, etc. Plus I showed her how you can let your foot completely off the brake/pedal and the H3 calmly climbs downhill by itself. She was amazed!! My brother tried it in the FJ and found gravity taking over before his downhill assist kicked in. Thanks again for the compliments and questions......Brad O.
