The "39" number may be incorrect. Some places put it as high as 62 American and 2 British. It depends on what you read and whose counting as the liberals really push the higher numbers constantly.
For comparison, the US as a country averages around 16k murders a year since 2000. California has had over 2k murders a year since 1974 while peaking at aver 4k one year!!!! NY has over 1k per year. Virginia 400.
