Relatives of GM employees can obtain GMS, and the car can be titled in the purchaser's name. My Brother has purchased via GMS, my kids have purchased through GMS and the vehicles are titled in their names; I had nothing to do with the purchase but supply the GMS number.
Children (including step children), spouses (not ex'es ), father/mother, father/mother in-laws, siblings (including step) and grandparents are eligible for GMS discounts, and the vehicle does not have to be in the name of the employee.

And those at director level or above can issue two GMS ID's to non-family members, per month.
