X2. I'm borrowing a utility trailer that won't sit level with a 6" drop. My guess is that an 8" drop might be about right.
And I just bought a boat where a 6" drop is just right for a level ride. The gap between the ball lock lever and the spare tire is 0" with the 6" drop though. So without relocating my spare off the back, there's no way I could really use a 4" drop hitch or shorter.
BTW, I have no air suspension in back.
