ChevyHighPerformance is off the scale
Default Re: Electric Fan anyone?

Even though I'm "power hungry" I would probably pass on the e-fans. I don't know how much HP you net from the reduced parasitics, the increase in MPG, or how much faster you engine will initially heat up??? The coolant system removes about 30 ish percent of engines heat. The constant flow of the stock fan keeps a nice breeze on the engine and air moving in the engine compartment. The e-fans may help the A/C at slow speeds if you can turn them on when the A/C high side is developing pressure. Some colorado/canyon owners have installed the wrong size and things got pretty warm. I'd try to get perhaps 3300 cfm along with a mini fan shroud and the fan should fit the core as much as possible. Maybe check some I5 colorado/canyon forums to see what they have done.
