I might also add that in later H2s, the inline fuel filter was removed.
In the 2003, the maintenance schedule does show a 30K replacment, but there is a large sock style strainer sitting on the fuel pump pick up tube in the tank; that strains any large sediments before the inline filter.
However, my rule of thumb has always been if you floor it and the engine bogs down (due to lack of fuel flow through the filter), but idles ok, check the easist part to replace; the filter...even if it could be something else such as the actual fuel pump. But if you floor the vehicle and there is no hesitation, then the filter is flowing fuel at required volume.
