Gas engine...supercharger. Give you instant power, turbo take some RPMs to wind up, and you don't want to be revving the engine on boulders to get some power.
Diesels work better with turbos since they already have tons of low-end torque and need a boost at higher RPMS.
Drive a Dmax turbo, the thing pulls a house, and around 2700 rpms, when the turbo really hits the boost, it jumps.
Just my opinion.
