A engine borrowed from Chevy? Cool, didn't know Chevy made engines anymore. I guess they must have purchased GM powertrain. Hell, the LS engines are NOT made by Chevy. I really love the one about the ZO6 engine being assembled by man. Guess what, they are no more assembled by hand then any other engine GM makes. As for tuned to the vehicle....
I read two other articles in the past few weeks, and one starts the Alpha out around 45K.
From the advertisements, it appears the Alpha will be a Lux with a V8, so price out a lux and add about 2K for the engine, front axle (which to be honest is not that much more than the existing axle), and a few other goodies such as 3 more spark plugs and three more coils.... (This my guess, and I'll say it again, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE PRICE WILL BE... well, at least until the end of this month.)

I love when morons type for all the world to see what morons they are...
"Powering the C6 Z06 is a hand-assembled, 7,000-rpm 7.0-liter ? that's 427-cubic-inch ? normally aspirated small-block V8 called the LS7. It's an all-aluminum engine filled with exotic engineering, such as titanium connecting rods and intake valves, sodium-filled exhaust valves, a dry-sump oiling system, a forged-steel crankshaft and computer-machined cylinder-head porting. Horsepower and torque are a mind-bending 505 and 470 lb-ft, and it's all routed to the Vette's massive 19-inch rear tires through a six-speed manual transaxle.
You want more? How about brakes so large they can be seen from outer space, a full aluminum chassis, carbon-fiber front fenders and a magnesium engine cradle? The Corvette's removable roof panel has even been fixed in place to save mass and improve structure."

or....
"The second-generation Corvette Z06, unveiled for 2006, serves up two fewer cylinders than the Viper but forsakes nothing in thrust or presence. The LS7 all-aluminum, 7.0-liter small-block V-8--hand-assembled using premium hardware like titanium connecting rods and a dry-sump oil system--is GM's most powerful production car engine ever, delivering 505 fire-breathing horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The rest of this special Vette is equally top-drawer: lightweight, all-aluminum chassis; magnesium engine cradle; carbon-fiber front fenders; six-piston cross-drilled front brakes. Hey, did this thing come from Bowling Green--or Lockheed?"

As far as the pricing goes, this was a tongue & cheek thread that you obviously did not get. Yeah, they guess $35K, but I would probably think that it will be impossible to get one for that. As another posted, the dealers are going to load them with a ton of garbage to jack up the price even more.
