Default Re: Brembo Brakes

those brakes are great. They not only look good, but have a hard bit with an even patch on the rotor with those 8 pistons fronts/6 rears.

If you want to search around a bit on brakes, look into a company called stoptech. They also make high-end brakes but far from that, they provide tons on info on their site about brake technology. For example, if you want to upgrade the fronts, you HAVE to upgrade the rears. However, that doesn't mean go bigger in the rear. The car/truck is balanced from factory with and if you increase the front spotting power, than that balance is now off, you must now compensate.

Among that, drilled AND slotted rotors are a bad thing. Before, they were introduced because brake pad technology wasn't up to par with racecar technology. However, the brake pad has gotten better and better and now, really, you dont need drilled and slotted rotors. Basically, brakes work on surface area to disapate the heat in the pad so they wont fade. If you remove surface area, you removing brake efficiency. However, some will argue that with the slots and drilled holes, you impove the heat tranfers or cooling.

Well, not there is less material to abosorb heat. Also, less material between the slots, you run the risk of cracking your rotors, warping them, etc.

So, bla bla bla.... those brakes are hot!!! congrates!!!
