Default Re: Has anyone looked at the fuel economy on the window stickers on an 08?

With the type of rig we are driving the fuel economy you get up front is mostly what you will have. It is a little different when you are looking at break in on ligt cars etc. Mostly though unlike old days the material used today does not really have a break in. I have looked at it with several year models with various owners just in casual convo. All have said the same what you get is what you have unless you mkae some equip. mods to help.

It does seem to me though that the 6 speed should help at freeway miles but, i have not heard much feedback on that. The guy that put the 3/4 ton Silverado transfer and manual tranny in his H2 has the right idea on fuel usage conserved but, when he wants to make good use of the power he will come out on top. If not trailing all the time i would regear the tranny to get rid of the granny low as well as shift all gears some.

Hope it does improve but, if it were to be allot better it would be on the sticker.
