Phew - ducked the head issue bullet. Turned out to be the number 5 ignition coil had gone bad. I was able to have a local GM dealer take care of the problem as well. They were pretty sure the head problem would have thrown an indiator light or an LCD code. No long drive to the dealer! Woohoo!
