Thanks for the compliments, dogs are all well, didn't like getting the quills pulled, for those who don't know there is a texture on the end of the quill like a barb easy in but doesn't like to come out. A little blood with each quill but once all out you would have never known he had them, my guys are pretty tough. Our lab got it in the nose by a porcupine also and like a dumbass I proceeded to pull each one out with hemostats. It was pretty fricken loud!
After all was said and done a doctor that lives next door stopped over and asked about Max and informed me that if you cut part of the quill...it releases pressure inside the quill allowing it to come out easier.
Don't quite know if that's true or not the dog never went near another one for me to test it out!
