Ive had 3 Jeeps with the 4.0L six and very few problems. My YJ went over 140K and never missed a beat except for a cracked exhaust manifold which I fixed myself.

the older Wranglers were very simple with very little electronics gadgets controling everything ( examples T-Case, Traction Control, stability control, windows.)

Newer vehicles have some much more that can go wrong and that the owner can hardly trouble shoot let alone fix themselves
