I wouldn't advise lifting your Hummer more than 6 inches, especially if your going to drive it everyday. More than 6 inches creates much more intense stress on the frame of your hummer, and without beefing up the frame and upgrading components it is likely to cause major wear and even breakage. There are many people who have done this and it does work, but it does get very pricy to do.
