Default Re: spare transmission for h2 limo

If you look at a 465 from the exterior it looks identical to a 460 except for a very small bulge on the passenger side and should be a straight bolt on. An updated 4L60-E, the 4L65-E (RPO M32), was phased in for the 2004 model year H2 coupled behind the 6.0 Vortec. There are five-pinion planetaries, along with a higher capacity input housing and induction hardened input shaft assembly, that were beefed up to withstand up to 400 ft·lb of torque. The 465 also has the heavy duty torque converter which was originally designed with the Corvette in mind. We have GMC trucks with this transmission that have gone 250K, as long as you change fluids every 30,000 (GM recommends 50,000). One of the big problems with supercharging is the torque converter can't handle the additional torque with both the 460 and 465.
