Play with that and see if its not connected to the right cable or MAAAAAAAAYBE its connected to a cable that controls the headlights, the devise that makes that aftermarket radio work has its own power source and it might be messing with something its not supposed to, I would even go in the outside fusebox in the engine bay and see if there is no cable in between any fuses as if they're making your DRLs work along with the headlights, might be making a short? The volume on the steering wheel control buttons do not work!!
I will look at the wiring as you mentioned. You could be on to something.
