I have aftermarket 0-3 inch keys installed and the bolts were in all the way to the max, last week end I backed them out by about 1/2... the ride got a little better but the ride height stated the same.
I am wondering shouldnt the ride height also go down too when backing out the bolts? Or do I need to have the front wheels off the ground to get the adjustment to take?

Adjusting down should be do-able with wheels on the ground. Adjusting up, not so much. At least in my experience. That said, if your truck didn't drop after 1/2 a screw length of adjustment you might try it raised. It should have dropped.

Did you measure, or go by looks?
