There's a product I just found out about to prevent undue compression, and rebound, on dirtbikes when towing/hauling. It's just a plastic brace that you slip up under the front fender, sitting on top of the tire between the forks. When you tighten the tie-down straps, this thing acts as a stop, so that your forks only compress slightly. A guy I know has been using one for a while on his hitch-mounted hauler, and swears by it. Time to get myself one.
