If You mess with changing wastegate springs and a few other things then You will void warranty.
STS is trying to get a more flexible programer for the average install. We just did an STS in a 2004 H2 and We used the Predator and They sent Us one file But, We did not need it. The tuner made this rig run like crazy and We still have it a little rich to let the guy drive it and get turbo bearings broke in and as He drove it each day His spooling got faster and at lower RPM's He is spooling at around 2600 RPM now and We are going to put headers on it to build more and quicker spool and RPM lower. STS has a rig that spools at 1800rpm. The lag in the rig We installed is about 1/2 second. The problem is it needs to spool at lower rpm. That will happen when We put a long kneck set of headers to drop spoolup on down to around 1800 to 2100 rpm with a larger volume of exhaust.
It may not work for most but I would be confident to say it will.
We will have Our AWD dyno in around the end of the month or a little later in FEB. 06 and We can read 1000hp per axle and up to 185mph to 200mph. When We get Him back in We will do some testing and if it is helpful We will send it in to STS. The STS will take up to a week for the turbo bearings to run in and free up the wheel more each day.
I hope it helps but, it would not be a bad idea to put it on a AWD dyno and let them try some variation on the tune. We had Our customer to leave it with Us over the Weekend so We could drive it a little. That is how WE figured out the turbo would spool up faster as We drove it more. When He picked it up on Monday it was running real sweet and quite quick and will get better for Him.
Hope it helps some and We will be doing a Firebird soon and get a little more knowledge each time and will most likely add one to My 1999 Silverado once I run it on dyno and see what the things I have done shows.
We took on Magnuson also so that We can install and compare. We are expecting certain engines will respond better to one kit versus the other and will make the hp boost over the other.
Well hopes it helps and can visit more if You need a little more help.
