You have my sympathy. My Tahoe got the window smashed, got the ignition torn out of the column, got stolen for about 3 days. Plenty of time for these young entrepreneurs to steal most of my wardrobe (I had just come from the dry cleaners and the laundry), some side arms (they missed the broken down long gun) and a ton of German medical gear that was irreplaceable (it's no longer made). All in all, I got hit for about 10 Large.
Still, my work ID and passport weren’t taken, the truck was repairable and no one got hurt. I’m afraid the quote above says a lot. My clothing was visible through the darkly tinted windows. I was parked in Santa Monica right by the ocean. The cops said that lots of tourists park there and get broken into. I may need to spring for a secure cargo drawer for the trunk floor. Not carrying gear isn’t really an option for me.
Anyway, get yourself whatever toys or bling will make you happy and help you get past this.
