Well I went through the book with the windows down, engine compartment open and back hatch open !
Now the questions ...
Fresh air feeded into the air filter chamber from a feed tube coming from the right front fender. Where is the intake for that air? It doesn't seem to be in the engine compartant so in not the air coming in colder the that under the hood? AND if yes where does/how does the cold air induction systems get its air and is it any colder then what it gets now/ (wow, long question)
NEXT
I must have been asleep on this one but the black upper hood grill don't do a DAM thing, just looks, or are old age & blindness against me?
Would be neat if it were a GOOD active cooling air intake/hot air exhaust...
Has anyone purchased locking/special lug nuts and if yes which ones, where & cost. Be it HUMMER orginal or aftermarket?
The one that comes with the spare is good but what do you do with the key/adapter ? attach it to your key chain or hid it in the truck(that would be stupid) or tell me what you do with yours other then telling me to put it where the SUN DON'T SHINE !
Well NUFF 4 NOW
More questions in a few days
Thanks

It's only for looks.
If you look at the first pic on the Bebe Rhino post, you will see the air intake.

I bought locking lugs at Farm and Fleet here in the midwest. I dont remember the brand, I just got 4 that were quality made. The most important thing was ,, will they fit under the plastic cover.Mine were about almost an inch longer and just fit under the cap. They let me try them before I bought while they were putting on my new tires so that helped. Some were longer and would not of fit, but if you look for the shortest ones you should be OK, Sorry might not be much help ,but it can be done. My key is in the old glovebox, again probably not the safest place but they will have to break in to get it and I always know I have it. See ya

Trying to get my rims on my previous car, I went through a dozen of different brands/types of locking lug nuts. Every single one of them was easily removable using just a socket, the keys were useless.
Finally, I got a set of McGard ( www.mcgard.com) locking lug nuts. The key fits into an indentation in the middle of the lug nut, not just a special pattern around the lug nut. I would say those would be your best bet.
However, if someone wants your rims bad enough, they'll get them. I broke the top off one of the locking lug nuts before, and I just hammered a 12-point socket onto it and got it right off.
Also, some tuner lugs thats also require a key but technically aren't locking, would be a good idea to add to the locking lugs.
I have always kept my lug keys in the glovebox, but my glovebox locked in the previous car. I'm sure you can find a good hiding spot somewhere in the car. Inside the jack?

Those are what I have used, not on the hummer though. Not sure what type of base the hummer lugs have, but you get the idea.

I have found that it doesn't really matter if you have the locking nut or not. If they want the rim, they will get it just like deicustoms said. Really, they'll just take the whole car.
mcgard.com had good locking nuts however, this is the brand I had on my Mustang Cobra and everytime I went to use the "key" to remove the nut it would break. I'll bet I went through 4 keys befire I just put the regular nut back on and said the heck with it! Plus the Ford dealer had a master set made out of some high grade steel. So I would end up over there all the time having them remove the lock nuts.

Look underneath the right snorkel (exactly where the arrow is pointing), on the front side of the snorkel you will holes, that the where air comes in. the right snorkel is not just a design cue, it's REALLY part of the air intake, maybe not as much as the H1, but hey for an H3 it's enough

THANK ALL OF YOU SO FAR WHO HAVE ANSWERED !
SledgeHummer, thank you for pointing out the exact location. So it seems the air filter is drawing upon outside colder air for its feed, SO, how come the K&N etc give an additional 14/15 HP? Is it the flow direction or shorter distance?
Still looking for comments about changing the DECO black top grill to some type of cold air intake (in the future) I know U have to cut into the hood around the underhood reinforcements and fab a bunch of stuff and then U would loose the H1,H2,H3 lookalikes... BUT it is an interesting idea (air intake and hot air exhaust on top of hood)
truck, its kinda like leaving the keys on the floor. MayB i'l find a cool adapter so 2 add it to my keyring (gona think upon that for awile)
AND
The TRUTH, had 2 different neighbors 2day come over & both R now considering getting H-3's. Its still in the considering stage but we may have 2 renane our neighborhood !!!
Thanks again ...

The lug lock key (socket) slides into a holder in the jack case, that is behind the door on the rear door.

But F Stop isn't that like putting the keys on the dash ? Just a question not to argue.
When I put the locking nut on the spare thats where I put the xtra lug nut (in the little case)

It's a big difference between stealing your spare (or rims) and stealing a car. Unless the thief has knowledge on the Hummer, the jack case is a great place to hide the key. It's not really practical to always keep it with you, and it's something you need with the car just in case.
Unless you have a $5k 28" chrome spare rim on the back, I doubt anybody would put much effort into getting it. And taking time to find a key that might be in the car isn't smart, if they are wheel stealers they'll have a wrench with something to get any lug nut off right away.
Of course if someone is stealing stuff from inside your truck (stereo, tvs,...) and they come across the lug key and deceide to take your spare also, that'll probably be the lesser of your problems.

You asked where it is designed to go, not if it is recommended. I think of it this way, if someone actually breaks in, finds the key, and steals my spare, they could have removed it without the key, and besides, I'm well insured. (And if they attempt to do it and get caught, I always have loved the look on someone's face when confronted by the owner or the police.)
I guess my biggest problem at my age is trying to remember where the damn key is if I need it. To be honest, that is one thing I have not worried about; I worry more about the idiots who run stop signs in the morning commute to work.

Sledgehammer, where did you get the information that the air inlet comes it via the air intake housing-Non Functional (GM's name for that part)?
I did some research today, basically tearing the front left fender off, and removing that fake air intake, and that is not what I came up with.
The air intake comes in through the wheel well, you can see where the outer hose to the air filter housing goes into the fender well. If you pull the fake air filter thing off the hood, there are holes in the outer edge (both sides the same), but no place for the air to go once entering. It sits on a metal brace.
I'm checking now, but someone mentioned this could be for heat exit from the engine compartment, but this is not verified, or they could be plain old drain hoses.
Regardless, I see no way air entering this non-functional device could supply air to the air filter housing. Possibly I'm missing something, but this was a saleable vehicle.
