Default I lost a little chrome!

I saw a local Hummer dealer had three H2's in there with black parts on them. I stopped and talked to them and they agreed to let me swap some chrome parts for black. I swapped the hood handles and hood latches. My chrome ones went on a white one that had the stick on chrome for the door handle buckets. The hood and latches were about the only things it had that wasn't chrome, so it actually looks complete now.

They said they will call me if they get one in that has black tail light guards, and we can swap them too. I still want ot swap out my door pulls, but that is a little more work. I think I will end up painting the grill black.

It's a start anyway! Oh! I painted the roof rails with spray on bedliner yesterday, too. Here are a few pics.

Hmmmm, is there a pattern developing here?

Looks good. I'm the same way with having black parts instead of chrome. I never have been a big fan of chrome. Did a good job on the roof rails can't even tell you painted them.

I think the roof rails look a lot better black. I've been doing the same to my white H2. Roof rails, grill, skidplate.
I have the same mirrors as you, been thinking about color matching them as well.

I had an idea for the mirrors yesterday. I thought how about paint them black, and get a couple H2 emblems, like on the door, and put them on the front of the mirror? I am not sure yet, I'll have to think about it for awhile. I thought about maybe making the empblems dark gray or something, so they are kind of ghosted. Or maybe color matched to the body?

Kudos on the smart idea to check with the dealer. You get what you want without costing a penny.

Looks great!

I have a black painted grille on the 2007 H2 that I just purchased last week and I am looking for a OEM chrome grille; send me a PM; maybe we can work out a trade.

Looks better! As you can tell, I'm not a big fan of chrome either. I found removing the roof rack bars has given me another 0.7 mpg on long highway trips, and helps the clearance in the garage, in parking garages and offroad. I have a black front grille that I sometimes use at events, but as for chrome, the side mirrors and front grille are about it for me.
